Les bains à sec/refroidisseurs Grant bio sont compacts, flexibles et faciles d'utilisation : ils conviennent parfaitement pour le chauffage et le refroidissement rapides des microtubes, et constituent donc un outil très efficace pour la préparation d'échantillons d'ADN en vue d'une dénaturation et d'une électrophorèse. Trois modèles sont disponibles, au choix : le PCH-1 a une capacité de 32 microtubes maximum dans deux tailles différentes (12×1,5 ml et 20×0,5 ml), tandis que le PCH-2 peut contenir jusqu'à 20 microtubes d'une seule taille (1,5 ml).
