Vecteurs, plasmides et banques
En clonage moléculaire, les vecteurs sont des molécules d’ADN utilisées pour introduire artificiellement du matériel génétique étranger dans une autre cellule. Les quatre principaux types de vecteurs sont les plasmides, les vecteurs viraux, les cosmides et les chromosomes artificiels, les plasmides étant les plus utilisés. Les vecteurs peuvent être employés pour le clonage, certains étant spécifiquement conçus à cet effet, tandis que d’autres sont destinés à la transcription et à l’expression de protéines. Les vecteurs de transcription plus simples servent à amplifier le matériel génétique inséré.
