Collagenases are enzymes that break the peptide bonds in collagen.

Activity:>=125 units per mg dry weight. One Unit releases one micromole of L-leucine equivalents from collagen in 5 hours at 37 °C, pH 7,5.

Reconstituted in balanced salt solutions (such as Hank's, Earle's and others) at concentrations from 0,05% to 0,5% (w/v). For enzymetic assay: Reconstituted in 0,05 M TES buffer with 0,36 mM calcium chloride, pH 7,5 at a concentration of 1,0 mg/ml.
