3,3'-Di-n-hexyloxacarbocyanine iodide [DiOC6(3) iodide] 98%
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
3,3′-dihexyloxacarbocyanine iodide (DiOC6) is a supravital lipophilic fluorochrome. This cationic dye is employed to stain mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum in animal and plant cells. In addition, it acts as a very rapid, consistent and highly selective fluorochrome for endophytic ascomycetes in plant roots and liverworts. DiOC6 also facilitates the detection of different mitochondrial changes happening during early apoptosis.

Supplier: Biotium
DiOC6(3) (3,3′-Dihexyloxacarbocyanine,iodide) is a green fluorescent membrane dye that has been used to stain the ER in both live and fixed cells. The dye has also been used to study structural interactions and dynamics of the ER in neurons and yeast. In addition, the dye is widely used as a membrane potential dye.
