CP-Al₂O₃/Na₂SO₄ ist eine Aluminiumoxid-PLOT-Säule, die eine hohe Selektivität für die Trennung von C₁ im ppm-Bereich bietet bis C₅-Kohlenwasserstoffe in einem Hauptstrom von C₁- bis C₅-Kohlenwasserstoffen. Das Na₂SO₄-Deaktivierungssalz sorgt für eine polare Al₂O₃-Oberfläche, so dass ungesättigte Verbindungen wie Ethylen und Acetylen länger erhalten bleiben. Diese Säulen analysieren mehr Verbindungen in einem einzigen Lauf als gepackte Säulen und liefern dennoch eine höhere Auflösung und schnellere Analysezeiten. Im Vergleich zu flüssigen stationären Phasen bietet CP-Al₂O₃ eine erhöhte Selektivität und ermöglicht die Trennung aller C₁- bis C₅-Kohlenwasserstoffisomere. CP-Al₂O₃ arbeitet ohne die Notwendigkeit einer Kühlung unterhalb der Umgebungstemperatur.
