These spore ampoules are ideal for use in validation and routine monitoring of liquid steam sterilization cycles. Spore ampoules are manufactured using hermetically sealed Type I borosilicate glass containing an exclusively formulated Tryptic
Soy Broth (TSB) modified with pH indicator, and Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores. No activation is required; simply expose Spore Ampoules to sterilization process and incubate.

Selbstklebende, nicht-giftige Indikatoren, die nach 10-minütiger Einwirkung bei 121 °C oder 2-minütiger Einwirkung bei 134 °C von gesättigtem Wasserdampf von blau nach pink umschlagen. Längere Expositionszeiten bewirken eine Aufhellung von pink. Der Farbwechsel von blau nach pink ist sowohl zeit- und temperaturabhängig als auch abhängig vom Vorhandensein von gesättigtem Wasserdampf.

Unter Einwirkung von Gamma- oder Elektronenstrahlen ändert sich die Farbe der selbstklebenden, nicht-toxischen chemischen Indikatoren von gelb zu rot. Zum Schutz vor UV-Licht sind die Etiketten mit einer UV-blockierenden Substanz beschichtet. Es wird eine Bestrahlung bei mindestens 15 kGy empfohlen, um eine ausreichende Entwicklung der Endpunktfarbe zu gewährleisten. Bei höherer Dosierung weisen die Strahlenindikatoren ein dunkleres Rot auf.

Sporensuspensionen sind reine Suspensionen von lebensfähigen Sporen bestimmter Organismen mit bekannter Resistenz gegenüber verschiedenen Sterilisationsverfahren. Mit Hilfe dieser biologischen Indikatoren wird überprüft, ob bakterielle Sporen vollständig abgetötet wurden. Der Indikator wird einfach zusammen mit dem Sterilisationsgut im Sterilisator bearbeitet. Wird nach Kultivierung kein bakterielles Wachstum nachgewiesen, so ist der Sterilisationsprozess wirksam. Ein Wachstum weist auf eine unwirksame Sterilisation hin.
