Cell-permeable acetoxymethyl (AM) ester of the fluorescent calcium indicator Fluo-3, Commonly used in cell-based experiments to detect changes in intracellular calcium levels. Practically nonfluorescent until it is hydrolysed intracellularly to Fluo-3 and in the presence of Ca²+.
