SARS-CoV-2 is a novel coronavirus that has caused a worldwide outbreak of respiratory disease beginning in 2019.

In this simulated medical test, we will use electrophoresis to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in samples from patients with symptoms of COVID-19.

Additional items needed but not included: DNA electrophoresis equipment, white-light box, microwave or hot plate.
