Mithilfe der Microarray-Instrumente können Microarrays zur Genotypisierung, Antikörper-Detektion und vergleichenden Genomanalyse durchgeführt werden. Es sind sowohl einzelne Komponenten erhältlich, um Microarrays herzustellen, weiterzuverarbeiten, zu scannen and zu analysieren, als auch ganze Systeme zum Scannen oder Analysieren. Mobile Microarray Spotter für den Labortisch können mehrere Glasträger gleichzeitig mit hoher Dichte und gleichmäßiger Verteilung auf die Testfelder (Spots) bedrucken. Modelle mit spezieller Linse zur Messung schwacher Fluoreszenzsignale sind ideal für diagnostische Anwendungen. Kolorimetrische Systeme ermöglichen es Forschern, das vollständige Spektrum der Farbstoff-Markierungen zu scannen und die Bilder in ein beliebiges Standard-Softwarepaket zur Microarray-Analyse zu importieren.
