Auslaufsichere, feste Stopfen verschließen Flaschen, Kolben, Phiolen und sogar Schläuche, um das Entweichen von Flüssigkeiten und Gasen zu verhindern. Mehrloch-Varianten sorgen für die gewünschten eingeschränkten Strömungsbedingungen, um die Bildung von Luftblasen zu vermeiden. Durch ein leicht konisches Design werden Stopfen unterschiedlicher Durchmesser in Laborglas eingesetzt, um einen festen Sitz zu gewährleisten, der dennoch ein einfaches Entfernen erlaubt. Die Verschlüsse werden aus verschiedenen Materialien hergestellt, um eine genaue Beständigkeit gegenüber aggressiven Inhalten zu gewährleisten und können eine Vakuumatmosphäre aufrechterhalten.
