Aräometer
Hydrometer bzw. Aräometer messen die Dichte oder das spezifische Gewicht von Flüssigkeiten oder Bodenproben, die zu fein für eine Siebanalyse sind. Das freischwimmende Gerät besteht aus einem zylindrischen Stiel und einem beschwerten Auftriebskörper. Die Aräometer sind mit Metall statt mit Blei oder Quecksilber beschwert und ihre graduierte Skala kann einfach am Meniskus abgelesen werden. Das klare, durchsichtige Glas des Hydrometers und für spezielle Untersuchungen kalibrierte Modelle sorgen für genaue Ergebnisse. Teilung und Genauigkeit variieren bei den Instrumenten zur Messung der relativen Dichte.
