Filterpapier aus reiner Cellulose, behandelt mit Salzsäure und Flusssäure, ist ein quantitatives Papier für Filtrationen mit hoher Durchflussrate und guter Rückhaltung. Es bildet eine semipermeable Barriere senkrecht zum Flüssigkeits- oder Luftstrom, um feine Substanzen von Flüssigkeiten oder Luft zu trennen. Für routinemäßige Laborarbeiten stehen verschiedene Filterpapierqualitäten zur Verfügung, von grober bis feiner Partikelfiltration.
