Pufferlösungen sind pH-beständig und schützen Proben bei Zugabe von Säuren oder Laugen. Sie sind als Pulver und Flüssigkeiten erhältlich und ermöglichen die effiziente Verfolgung von Proteinen während der elektrophoretischen Isolierung und Trennung. Salzhaltige Pufferlösungen eignen sich zudem zur Kalibrierung und Standardisierung von pH-Metern für präzise Messwerte. Blockierende Substanzen verhindern die Bindung von Antikörpern an freie Membranstellen, wodurch ein störender Hintergrund entstehen würde. Die Pufferlösungen sind in verschiedenen Konzentrationen, sowohl flüssig als auch dehydriert, erhältlich und decken somit jeden Bedarf ab.
