TGF-α is an EGF-related polypeptide growth factor that signals through the EGF receptor, and stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. It is produced by monocytes, keratinocytes, and various tumor cells. TGF-α induces anchorage-independent transformation in cultured cells. Human, murine and rat TGF-α are cross-species reactive. Recombinant Human TGF-α is a 50 amino acid polypeptide (5.5 kDa), which shares approximately 40% sequence homology with EGF, including 6 conserved cysteine residues, which form 3 intramolecular disulfide bonds.

The calculated molecular weight of Recombinant Human ICOS Fc dimer is 79.4 kDa; however, due to glycosylation, it migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 40-45 kDa by SDS-PAGE analysis under reducing conditions.

All three isoforms of GRO are CXC chemokines that can signal through the CXCR1 or CXCR2 receptors. The GRO proteins chemoattract and activate neutrophils and basophils. GRO/MGSA also stimulates mitogenesis in certain human melanoma cells. C1 inhibitor is a member of the serpin family of structurally related proteins, and is the primary regulator of the immune complement system. C1 inhibitor is a protease inhibitor that functions to inhibit the complement system in order to prevent over-activation or spontaneous activation. Inhibition is achieved by binding to and irreversibly inhibiting the C1r and C1s proteases of the C1 complex, which has the effect of shutting down all subsequent downstream events in the complement activation cascade. C1 inhibitor can also inhibit various other proteases, including Kallikrein, Factor XIa, and Factor XIIa. Deficiencies in C1 inhibitor are the primary cause of hereditary angioedema (HAE, hereditary angioneurotic edema), a disease characterized by edema in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. In certain clinical situations, the direct administration of C1 inhibitor can be used to treat HAE and certain other conditions. Recombinant Human C1 Inhibitor is a highly glycosylated glycoprotein containing 478 amino acid residues (52.8kDa), corresponding to amino acids 23 – 500 of the C1 inhibitor precursor, and is fully functional in its ability to inhibit the C1 complex. Glycosylated C1 Inhibitor migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 80-90 kDa by SDS PAGE analysis under reducing conditions.

SCF is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity by signaling through the c-Kit receptor. SCF and c-Kit are essential for the survival, proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic cells committed to the melanocyte and germ cell lineages. Human SCF manifests low activity on murine cells, while murine and rat SCF are fully active on human cells. The human SCF gene encodes for a 273 amino acid transmembrane protein, which contains a 25 amino acid N-terminal signal sequence, a 189 amino acid extracellular domain, a 23 amino acid transmembrane domain, and a 36 amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The secreted soluble form of SCF is generated by proteolytic processing of the membrane anchored precursor. Recombinant Rat SCF is an 18.4 kDa polypeptide containing 165 amino acid residues, which corresponds to the sequence of the secreted soluble form of SCF.

IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that promotes the survival, differentiation and proliferation of committed progenitor cells of the megakaryocyte, granulocyte-macrophage, erythroid, eosinophil, basophil and mast cell lineages.  Produced by T cells, mast cells and eosinophils, IL-3 enhances thrombopoiesis, phagocytosis, and antibody-mediated cellular cytotoxicity.  Its ability to activate monocytes suggests that IL-3 may have additional immunoregulatory roles.  Many of the IL-3 activities depend upon co-stimulation with other cytokines.  IL-3 is a species-specific, variably glycosylated cytokine.  Recombinant Human IL-3 is a 15.0 kDa globular protein containing 133 amino acid residues.Manufactured using all Animal-Free reagents.

Both MIP-1α and MIP-1β are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines. They participate in host response to invading bacterial, viral, parasite and fungal pathogens, by regulating the trafficking, and activation state, of selected subgroups of inflammatory cells (e.g. macrophages, lymphocytes and NK cells). While both MIP-1α and MIP-1β exert similar effects on monocytes, their effect on lymphocytes differ; with MIP-1α selectively attracting CD8+ lymphocytes, and MIP-1β selectively attracting CD4+ lymphocytes. Additionally, MIP-1α and MIP-1β have also been shown to be potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils and dendritic cells.
