Each kit includes one Cogent Bidentate C18™ column and one Cogent Diamond Hydride™ column.
Using these two columns in an LCMS method and the appropriate mass spectrometer, it is easy to create a reliable 'metabolome', which consists of plotting metabolite retention times versus their accurate masses. Using these metabolomes, one can find the differences between sample sets such as healthy cells and diseased cells.
The C18 column is used for the most hydrophobic compounds while the Diamond Hydride™ column is used for all other compounds.
