R2A Agar, BD

R2A Agar is used for enumerating heterotrophic organisms in treated potable water.

• Dehydrated appearance: Light beige, flree-flowing
• Prepared appearance: Light amber, slightly opalescent
• Improves recovery of chlorine-tolerant bacteria

A low-nutrient medium, R2A Agar is used in combination with a lower incubation temperature and longer incubation time to stimulate the growth of stressed and chlorine-tolerant bacteria.
