A plunger assembly opens to admit the sample when the thief strikes the bottom of the tank or is triggered by a secondary trip line. Plunger locking cam provides a tight closure during transport, except for 2.8cm (11/8") diameter models, which are designed for sampling through narrow pipes and openings.
