Schiff's Reagent is a ready-to-use solution used during P.A.S (Periodic Acid, Schiff) staining. It is used for the detection of aldehydes and mucopolysaccharides, glycogen, muco- and glycoproteins, glycolipids, phospholipids, basement membranes and collagen in histology.
Reacts with aldehydes to form a bright red color
- Widely used for the detection of a certain functional group in chemical solutions
