A weitlaner retractor is a self-retaining, handheld surgical instrument used to hold soft tissues apart during surgical procedures to give the surgeon access to the site. The retractor is self-retaining, meaning it remains in place once it is positioned, freeing your hands.

The weitlaner retractor has two parallel blades with prongs, each with blunt or sharp, curved, and slightly tapered ends. The retractor has a ratchet locking mechanism to secure the blades with the desired spread. This mechanism enables easy adjustment of the retraction angle and provides stability during the procedure. The ring handles give you a firm, comfortable grip.
