Barraquer Wire Retractor, also known as a wire speculum or wire lid retractor, is a surgical instrument used in ophthalmic surgery to hold the eyelids open and maintain exposure during eye procedures. It consists of a thin wire loop or loops that are gently inserted between the eyelids and then expanded to keep the eyelids apart.
