Castroviejo Needle Holders
À propos de cet article
Castroviejo needle holders are a surgical instrument used for microsurgery requiring precise control and manipulation of small needles, though they are most commonly used in ophthalmic surgery. Our Castroviejo needle holders feature fine tips for grasping and manipulation of small, delicate needles. The jaws can either be serrated (cross-hatched) or smooth.
- Spring action handle
- Lock mechanism easy to engage
- Fine tips, 1.2 mm
- Serrated or smooth jaws
- Titanium, stainless steel or premium German steel
Serrated jaws help prevent slippage and ensures a secure grip on the needle, though this may not always be required. With fragile tissues, a serrated tip may cause excessive trauma or damage to the tissue, and a smooth tip may be preferred. Some synthetic sutures, such as polypropylene or PTFE, are less prone to slipping than natural sutures and may not require a serrated tip. If a surgeon is approximating a delicate tissue layer, a smooth tip may be chosen.
The locking mechanism on the spring handles ensures the needle is held firmly and reduces the risk of slipping. These Catroviejo needle holders have a spring action for situations when you need constant pressure on the needle and precision control. These are useful when working under a microscope or in confined spaces.
They are an excellent choice for left-handed operators, too, as they are designed for ambidextrous use. Be sure to clean, disinfect, and sterilize your surgical instruments promptly after each use to ensure a long life for your surgical tools. These Castroviejo Needle Holders are available in surgical grade stainless steel, our premium German steel, or titanium.
Applications:
Ophthalmology for fine applications on the cornea or delicate eye tissues.
Plastic surgery for delicate tissues.
Neurosurgery for microsurgical procedures.
Orthopedic surgery for suturing tendons or ligaments.
Cardiovascular surgery for suturing small blood vessels or microvascular surgery.
