For nonpolar extraction, choose RP-18, RP-18E (Endcapped), or CN (Cyano) columns.
Typical sample matrix: aqueous buffer solution. Typical sample substances: aromatic ring systems and compounds with alkyl chains. Typical elution solvent: acetonitrile, methanol, and ethyl acetate. Endcapped cartridges have a bonded phase that is reacted with trimethylchlorosilane to cover silanols not previously reacted with the initial bonding reagent. For polar extraction, choose CN (Cyano) or Si (Silica Gel) columns. Typical sample matrix: hexane, oils, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
