During electrophoresis, these markers help monitor the efficiency of protein separation and allow accurate sizing of proteins in a sample. During Western blotting, they help confirm transfer has occurred from the gel to the membrane.
- Fast - No more mixing standards
- Easy - Simply unwrap and use
The color markers contain nine proteins labeled with fluorescent dyes and are supplied as lyophilized solids containing the buffer salts and detergent found in the typical Laemmli buffer system. The proteins do not contain oligosaccharides that can cause anomalous migration, heterogeneous bands, and inaccurate size estimation.
The masses of the stained proteins are: 10, 15, 20, 25, 40, 50, 80, 125, 190 kDa. Each lot of the colored markers is calibrated against the unstained markers for accuracy.
The masses of the un-stained proteins are: 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, 50, 75, 100, 150, and 225 kDa. The 50 kDa band is double-intensity for easy identification.
