BBL™ Salt Broth, Modified, BD

BBL™ Salt Broth (Modified) is a selective medium for the differentiation of Enterococcus species from the Streptococcus bovis group of streptococci.

• Growth (turbidity) within 72 hours indicates that the strain is salt tolerant
• Sometimes changes the indicator color from purple to yellow within 72 hours
• Broth media containing 6.5% NaCl are used to differentiate enterococci by determining the salt tolerance
