About this item

Product is the lyophilized powder of mouse IgG and buffer salts.

  • Purified mouse IgG may be used as a reference antigen, standard, blocking agent, or coating protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, dot immunobinding, Western immunoblotting, immunodiffusion, and immunoelectrophoresis.
  • Other applications include starting materials for the preparation of immunogens and solid phase immunoadsorbents. Mouse IgG was used as standard in ELISA and chromatin immunoprecipitation assay.
  • It was used to coat nano particles in the development of biosensors. It is suitable for use as a positive control in antibody identification screening techniques.

The total protein is determined using the Biuret procedure, with bovine albumin as the standard. Each vial is overfilled by approximately 10 percent so that a minimum of 20 mg of mouse IgG is obtained upon reconstitution.

Mouse IgG is purified from pooled mouse serum using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized. No preservative has been added.

IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant serum immunoglobulins of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to fetus through the placenta that is vital for immune defence of the neonate against infections.

Reconstitution:: Reconstitute product with 2 mL of deionized or distilled water. Gentle swirling may be used to speed rehydration. Avoid vigorous shaking of the reconstituted material.
