À propos de cet article
For libraries constructed from highly methylated DNA, Gigapack III Packaging Extract simplifies the packaging procedure and increases the efficiency and representation of libraries constructed from highly methylated DNA. Each packaging extract is restriction minus to optimize packaging efficiency and library representation.
- Highest efficiency available (2×109 pfu/µg)
- Absence of restriction activity prevents degradation of methylated DNA
- Increases library representation
Gigapack III Packaging Extracts preserves methylated DNA, making it ideal for use in epigenetic studies where DNA methylation may be associated with heritable changes in gene expression or cellular phenotype. To optimally meet specific experimental goals, 3 variations of Gigapack III packaging Extracts are offered, all in single tubes.
Gigapack III Gold produces the highest packaging efficiency commercially available (2 × 109 pfu/µg) and is designed for cDNA and genomic library construction.
Gigapack III Plus is an economical alternative to Gigapack III Gold packaging extract when the highest packaging efficiency is not required.
Gigapack III XL preferentially packages large inserts (i.e., 47–51 kb recombinant), which eliminates the need for size fractionation steps and the loss associated with sizing columns or sucrose gradients (use in genomic lambda and cosmid library constructions).
