Tryptic Soy Blood Agar Base No. 2 and Tryptic Soy Blood Agar Blase EH are similar in composition to TSA II. These formulations utilize the peptones Tryptone H and Tryptone H Plus to enhance hemolysin production while minimizing antagonism or loss in activity of streptococcal hemolysins.

2 and Tryptic Soy Blood Agar Base EH are used for cultivating fastidious microorganisms and for the visualization of hemolytic reactions produced by many bacterial species.
