About this item
The BacMagic™-2 DNA Kit provides a positive selection for creating baculoviruses recombinants in preparation for generating recombinant protein expression in insect cells
BacMagic-2 DNA is derived from an AcNPV genome,
contains an ORF 1629 deletion which prevents nonrecombinant virus from replicating in insect cells, and contains a deletion of the nonessential chitinase (chiA) gene, to improve production of secreted and membrane-targeted proteins. BacMagic-2 DNA have an additional deletion of the v-cath gene, a cathespsin-like cysteine protease, resulting in significantly improved quality and yield for most target proteins.
The kit improves on the traditional method for generating recombinant baculoviruses by eliminating the tedious, time-consuming steps of plaque purification.
