Hexane (mixture of isomers)
Hexane (C₆H₁₄), a mixture of structural isomers, is a clear, highly volatile, and flammable hydrocarbon solvent with a boiling range of 65–70 °C. It is valued for its strong solvency toward oils, waxes, and resins, making it essential in extraction processes, chromatographic separations, and formulation of adhesives and coatings. In laboratories, hexane is frequently used for purification and degreasing applications.
