Column nuts come in ¹/₁₆" stainless steel, ¹/₈" and ¹/₄" brass, and new self tightening nuts.

  • No retightening means less wasted time
  • Finger-tight design lets anyone make consistent quality connections without tools
  • Low-torque seal prevents ferrules from sticking or crumbling
  • Lower column bleed prolongs column life

One of the most basic tasks in GC, installing the column, can be challenging. The GC oven is a dark, small space, and column installation uses tiny parts that need to be assembled with precision. Installation of the column into both the inlet and detector must be done properly to get accurate and reproducible results. To facilitate good column installation, Agilent offers a selection of capillary column nuts for GC fittings. The latest innovation, the Self Tightening column nut, prevents leaking and the need to retighten when using graphite/polyimide blend ferrules, which are recommended for use with oxygen sensitive detectors such as ECD or mass spectrometry.
