About this item

CELLSTAR® format sterile cell culture microplates are available tissue culture treated for the culture of anchorage-dependent cells, or untreated for suspension culture applications.

  • Designed to minimize wicking and reduce air bubble formation
  • Clear polystyrene film bottom
  • Chimney well design reduces cross-contamination
  • Certain models feature smaller working volumes to reduce sample usage

Multiwell culture plates come with a variety of well shapes

The 384-well plates with a maximum well volume of 30µL are special Small Volume™ plates that feature far smaller working volumes than typical 384-well plates, reducing sample usage while avoiding the instrument compatibility issues introduced by 1536-well plates. The wells on Small Volume™ plates feature conical well geometry; wells have a round top and a flat bottom, resembling a truncated cone.

Plates with µClear® bottoms feature a polystyrene microthin film bottom for clear imaging or viewing and minimized autofluorescence. HiBase plates are suitable for use with top-reading instruments, while LoBase plates are suitable for use with bottom-reading instruments. Dimensions: 128 L x 86 W mm (5 x 3⅜").

All plates are RNase- and DNase-free, noncytotoxic (EN ISO 10993), and nonpyrogenic. All plates have a Sterility Assurance Level (SAL) of 10-3 and have a footprint conforming to the ANSI/SBS 1-2004 Standard.
