These joints are tooled with a groove to accommodate an O-Ring and provide a greaseless, vacuum-tight connection.

Adapter joints are held together with pinch-type clamps (see table below for details).
O-ring is made of FETFE. FETFE, an Ace Glass exclusive compound, is a fluoroelastomer with TFE additives. It offers good compression set along with excellent temperature (to 230°C) and chemical compatibility. USP Class VI material.
