Belt-Driven Shaft Keeps Grinding Wheel Stable for Greater Accuracy

The tight tolerances of this machine let you grind thin sections with such accuracy, there’s often no need for hand finishing. The oversized vacuum chuck plate, with adjustable pins, accommodates petrographic sections from 27 x 46 mm to 2" x 3"; each unit is individually ground in to provide perfect parallelism. Quieter than most units of its type, its 6" diamond cup wheel is belt driven through a precision quill assembly featuring tapered cone bearings for unerring stability. Mounted specimens are finished via a right-mounted rocking arm, with thickness adjusted by a precisely tuned micrometer feed. A finely directed coolant spray keeps the grinding surface clean at all times. Constructed of stainless steel, anodized and cast aluminum. A user’s manual is included. Necessary vacuum/coolant systems and coolant traps are available separately. 110 VAC, 60 Hz with a 6' cord.
