Fluorescein Isothiocynate (FITC) is the simplest and most commonly used fluorescent dye for labeling of proteins, peptides, and antibodies
G-Biosciences' HOOK™ Dye Labeling Kit (FITC) utilizes SpinOUT™ desalting columns, for the rapid removal of unconjugated dye.
G-Biosciences' FITC labeling reagent is also available in preweighed, single use OneQuant™ FITC vials.
The isothiocyanate group of FITC will cross-link with amino, sulfhydryl, imidazoyl, tyrosyl or carbonyl groups on a protein. However, only the derivatives of primary and secondary amines generally yield stable products. FITC has excitation and emission wavelengths of 494nm and 520nm, respectively, therefore emitting green visible light.
