About this item
This Pierce™ protein transfection reagent is a cationic lipid mixture for complexation with proteins, peptides, antibodies and other biologically active molecules to allow their direct intracellular delivery.
- No need to isolate, clone and transfect gene sequences
- Optimum delivery in three to four hours after incubation
- Delivery complex is non-covalent
- Works with proteins, peptides and fluorescently labeled antibodies
The reagent/protein complexes offer optimum delivery within three to four hours after incubation and the complex is noncovalent so it does not interfere with biological activity
Molecules that have been successfully delivered with the transfection reagent include β-galactosidase, fluorescent-antibody, green fluorescent protein (GFP), high and low molecular weight dextran sulfate, phycoerythrin-BSA, caspase 3, caspase 8 and granzyme B.
It attaches to negatively charged cell surfaces and enters the cell either by directly fusing with the plasma membrane or by enodcytosis and subsequent fusion with the endosome. The transfection reagent may be used to study intercellular signaling, cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, oncogenesis, and transcriptional regulation.
