Lyophilized from 0.5% NH4HCO3. Native glutaredoxin-S2 has been isolated from E. coli. It functions as a glutathione-dependent hydrogen donor for ribonucleotide reductase. It is also useful as a general disulfide reductant for the in vitro study of protein folding mechanisms and has been demonstrated to work in conjuction with protein disulfide iosmerase to enhance refolding of scrambled RNase A and RNase T1. Reconstitute in 1mL 50mM Tris-HCl and 1mM EDTA at a pH of 7.5 to yield a final concentration of 1mg/mL. Units are defined using a standard HED assay.
Store at 4°C (39°F). Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze at –20°C (–4°F). Stock solutions are stable for up to two months when frozen. For research use only, not for therapeutic or diagnostic use.
