About this item
Tubes are suitable for collection, transport, and processing of capillary blood samples from infants, toddlers, children, geriatric patients, and patients in intensive care.
- May be used to test clinical chemistry parameters
- Stable gel barrier for transport
- Available in a variety of formats for specific uses
Serum and plasma tubes may be used for testing parameters in clinical chemistry
The EDTA tubes may be used for testing parameters in hematology. Carrier tubes are designed to ensure compatibility with most common centrifuges and laboratory instruments. The blood collection capillary and funnel are used to simplify blood transfer.
Tubes with a gel separator contain an inert, acrylic barrier in the base of the tube with a specific gravity that lies between the clot/cells and serum/plasma. During centrifugation, the gel will shift to form a stable barrier between the clot/cells and the serum/plasma. The barrier remains stable for transportation. These application-specific tubes are available in a variety of fill volumes.
