About this item
Extend your photogate to accommodate any width.
- Clips securely to the Fundamentals of Physics Photogate system
- Two mirrored adapters allow both photogates to be set up with extra long gate lengths
- Perfect for a wide variety of physics experiments, such as free fall, uniform circular motion, and attwood machines
Want to analzye the motion of an object that is too large to fit through the arms of a photogate? Whether it's a tennis ball in free fall or a student-constructed sail cart, this simple device allows you to create a photogate with an 'infinite' path length. The mirrored clips attach easily and securely to the infrared 'source' side of the photogate. A red laser pointer can then be aimed at the mirror so that the beam reflects into the detector side of the photogate. If an object blocks the laser's beam, the photogate will register an 'event' as usual.
