The lower rotating disc has four concentric troughs with tapered sides and open bottoms to protect tips and allow drainage. The upper rotating disc has a grid pattern concentric with the bottom, which keeps the pipettes vertical. The outer rim of the stationary base retains any draining liquid. A low center of gravity stabilizes the stand. It comes unassembled with instructions for quick assembly on the base.
