The shaking system delivers exceptional speed control, accuracy, and durability while continuously monitoring shaking speed and setpoint, even under changing loads.
Safety features include a built-in load sensor that detects unbalanced conditions and automatically reduces rpm or stops the operation to protect samples. A ramping feature slowly increases speed to the setpoint to avoid splashing. In timed mode, an audible alarm will sound when the timer reaches zero. Shakers can be run in cold rooms, incubators, and CO₂ environments from −10 to +60°C (−14 to +140°F). An RS-232 serial port is standard on these shakers.
Shakers can accommodate a variety of stainless steel platform options. Adjustable platforms are equipped with four cushioned rollers to hold most glassware securely. Universal platforms are suitable for mounting flask clamps and test tube racks. The culture platforms with mat are designed for slow speed applications that utilize low profile vessels. The separatory funnel platform can hold up to three 500 ml to 2 L samples at once. Standard test tube racks are made from PVC coated steel. Pivoting test tube racks are are made from polypropylene in a stainless steel holder.
The variable speed microprocessor control provides consistent, uniform mixing action. The microprocessor will display the last setpoint and will restart the unit if power is interrupted. Permanently lubricated ball bearings and a maintenance-free, brushless DC motor ensure reliable service in continuous operations. Touchpad controls feature easy-to-read, independent LEDs for speed and time, allowing operators to view all settings at once. The timer will display elapsed time or, when programmed to user defined limits, will shut off the unit. Last settings will be displayed even after the power has been shut off.
