Poietics® Diseased Human Preadipocytes (D-HprAD) are isolated from subcutaneous or visceral fat from diabetic Type I and diabetic Type II donors.

Preadipocytes from normal (non-diabetic) donors are available as a separate product. Pertinent additional donor information, including Body Mass Index (BMI), insulin dependence, and age of diagnosis.

Cryopreserved Poietics® Diseased Human Preadipocytes (D-HprAD) are guaranteed to contain ≥1 million cells per ampoule and test positive for adipogenic differentiation. All cells test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots. Recommended Medium: PGM® -2 Preadipocyte Growth Medium-2 BulletKit® Medium (provides both a proliferation medium and a differentiation medium guaranteed to induce differentiation into mature, functionally active adipocytes. Each bottle of the PGM-2® BulletKit® Medium contains enough differentiation medium to fully differentiate 10 million preadipocytes [10 complete 96-well plates] into mature, functionally active adipocytes).

The PGM®-2 Medium is offered as a BulletKit® Medium which includes both the basal medium and the necessary supplements for both proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes. The basal medium (PGM®-2 Basal Medium) and the necessary supplements (PGM®-2 SingleQuot® Kit) can also be purchased individually. Lonza guarantees the performance of Clonetics®/Poietics® cells only if appropriate Clonetics®/Poietics® media and reagents are used exclusively and the recommended storage and use protocols are followed.
