Shallow, thin-walled aluminum cups form the bottom and sides of the finished pellet to help reinforce XRF pellets. Preflared cups come with an unpainted surface for a snug fit in the pellet die. Unflared cups feature a pained outer surface to prevent seizure in the die and allow for labeling. Edge flaring prevents sample loss and pellet jamming. Utilize the edge flaring tool to help create a tighter fit in the pellet die. To use, simply press the tapered end of the edge flaring tool into the Spec-Caps® cup.
