Protolindenia wittei was a fossilized dragonfly that lived during the Jurassic period around 151 to 145 million years ago. This specimen was from the Solnhofen limestone of Bavaria, Germany near the town of Solnhofen. Other Odonata class insects, which are found in upper Carboniferous sediments (Pennsylvanian in North America), reached wing-spans of up to 30 inches (75 centimeters).
