C-C motif chemokine 3, CCL3 or (MIP-1a) is a monokine with inflammatory and chemokinetic properties. CCL3 binds to CCR1, CCR4 and CCR5. It is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ T-cells. Recombinant MIP-1-alpha induces a dose-dependent inhibition of different strains of HIV-1, HIV-2, and simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV).
This antiserum against Human MIP-1a has been tested for use in ELISA of human MIP-1a found in cell supernatants or in plasma or serum. Reactivity in other immunoassays is unknown.
