Integrated flanges on the cell and sleeve provide ease of handling, and ensure correct assembly of the sample cup with the open ends of the sleeve and cell neck on the same plane. The complete envelopment of the thin-film sample supports substances in between the sleeve and cell neck. There is no extraneous thin-film to trim and contend with the clippings and annoying static cling.

It includes a vented friction fitting cap with a knob.
