Small volume dissolution is a useful technique when tablets only contain very small amounts of active ingredient or for extended release tablets where small amounts are released and may be difficult to detect using HPLC or UV-Vis.

For tests of this size, vessel, paddle and basket dimensions are reduced and adapters are required to use them in existing dissolution testers.

QLA has developed both a small volume adapter design and a spin on/off shaft system that are compatible with many dissolutions testers.
