This distilling apparatus is used to determine volatile oil in drugs by distillation of a weighed quantity of drug in contact with water.
- The Clevenger type receiver trap included in this apparatus is for use when the oils are lighter than water
- The condenser rests on top of the receiver

- Flask and receiver are connected by a Standard Taper 24/40 joint
Made of borosilicate glass, the complete apparatus includes a 300mL round bottom flask (LG-7221), a finger type condenser, and a trap/receiver.
The receiver, graduated to 5mL with 0.1mL increments, has a tube connecting the lower part below the scale with the top of the vapor tube to return excess water to the flask.
