The Matsunami MAS-GP slide surface is treated with a coating that creates a strong adhesive and hydrophilic surface

Matsunami microscope slides are manufactured in Japan using optically clear, exceptionally flat, low fluorescence glass. They are finished with clipped corners.

The hydrophilic surface ensures faster draining of the water between the glass surface and tissue section, thereby minimizing any water trapped when the tissue section is retrieved from a water bath. Reducing or eliminating the trapped water increases the adhesive bond between the tissue section and the microscope glass. The proprietary coating produces a strong positive charge on the slide. Tissue sections having a negative charge are attracted to the surface of the glass. The bond is highly durable to thermal treatment.
