The media are optimized for primary human cells but can also be used for bovine, porcine, murine, rat and dog endothelial cells from microvascular vessels as well as for various endothelial cell lines.

Recommended for Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HDMEC), Human Cardiac Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HCMEC), Human Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells (HCAEC), Human Aortic Endothelial Cells (HAoEC), Human Pulmonary Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HPMEC), Human Dermal Lymphatic Endothelial Cells (HDLEC), Human Dermal Blood Endothelial Cells (HDBEC).

Endothelial Cell Growth Medium MV2 lacks the Endothelial Cell Growth Supplement (ECGS, bovine hypothalamic extract) but contains the basic Fibroblast Growth Factor, the Insulin-like Growth Factor (Long R3 IGF-1) and the Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF). Generally, VEGF leads to higher endothelial cell proliferation in culture. But, because of its multiple effects on the cell metabolism, it may also interfere with certain experimental setups. In these cases, we recommend the use of Endothelial Cell Growth Medium MV.

Ordering information: PromoCell Endothelial Cell Growth Media MV / MV2 are available as Medium (Ready-to-use) or as Medium Kit. The Medium (Ready-to-use) consists of a 500 ml bottle of Basal Medium and one vial of SupplementMix. The Medium Kit consists of a 500 ml bottle of Basal Medium and the SupplementPack (a set of individual vials with pre-measured supplements) allowing the user full control over the media formulation. Adding the SupplementMix or the SupplementPack to the Basal Medium results in the complete Growth Medium. Basal Medium (with or without phenol red) as well as SupplementMix and SupplementPacks can also be purchased separately.
