The capacity of the Criterion™ Blotter is 2 midi-sized or 4 mini-sized gels
- Transfers in 30 min to 1 hr for most proteins
- Overnight transfer at lower voltages
- Assembly tray for gel soaking, sandwich assembly, and ensuring correct orientation of gels and blots
- Cooling unit is sufficient for absorbing heat during most transfers
- Color-coded, easy-lock cassettes
- Optional cooling coil for precise temperature control
- Overflow chambers keep the laboratory bench dry
Blotters are available with a choice of plate or wire electrodes. Durable plate electrodes consist of a platinum-coated titanium anode and a stainless steel cathode. Wire electrodes are platinum.
The close spacing of the electrodes (4.3 cm) provides a high field strength and allows rapid transfer with one or two cassettes.
